This is the criteria we will be using when it comes to judging your RP's for every contest.
Match Relevance: Obviously this is self-explanatory. We feel like the focus of your RP's should be on your upcoming match. Please keep this in mind when you're writing your RP. If you write a wonderfully mastered piece centered around your girlfriend having a baby, while it may be entertaining, you will lose to someone who spends their time tearing you apart. This is a writing game, yes, but this is centered on professional wrestlers. Please keep this in mind. We don't want to constantly be reading "Roleplays" that read more like a badly-written Disney Channel spin-off.
Character Development: Hey now, this is where you can have your fun with your characters. REVIVAL isn't focused solely on shoot-styled RP's. You can have your characters interacting with their outside world, in fact we encourage it. A lot of us here enjoy reading that kind of thing. But please, don't put most of your effort into this. It's only worth 20% of your final scoring.
Entertainment Value: This is where it's kind of hard to describe. Each judge will find specific things entertaining. We're using this as effectively whether or not the RP can keep you hooked. Do you want to keep reading it? Or is the same re-hash of things from the last show? We're not expecting everyone to be another Kurt Vonnegut or Stephen King. But we are expecting you to put some thought and have some fun with your RP's. If you're all about winning and you get super butt-hurt all the time, it's going to carry over into your writing. Please relax. Enjoy yourself. And have fun, and in the end, we'll all be entertaining.
Spelling-Grammar-Overall Flow: Now, I'm not saying I'm a grammar Nazi. None of us are. However, if your RP is littered with typo's and grammar mistakes, and it makes it very hard to read, it's going to count against you. Not a lot, but this is really a step to get you to sort of proof read your own work so you're not posting something that looks like you wrote it with nothing but sausage fingers on a keyboard designed for a mouse.
We here hope this stears you into the right direction; We're not asking you to completely change your style. Every writer has their own unique direction. We are however asking you to sort of tailor fit your work for us, so we can all enjoy ourselves.
Thank you! And have fun!
We will update this from time to time to reflect any changing trends/overall mass support for and/or against something, if brought to our attention in a respectful manner.
