The camera shot opens on the arena, where the hum of fan chatter can be heard Revival not officially even starting yet.
The lights in the arena fade to near-total darkness, and Gone Guru kicks up, eliciting nearly no response from the crowd, as this theme is unfamiliar to them. Regardless of how kick-ass the tune itself is, the fans don't applaud or even boo the unknown. They simply have to be motivated to care.
A general murmur is heard as new addition to the Revival roster Black Mantis strides through the curtain, dressed in black from head to toe. It is impossible to determine anything about the man beneath the mask, and no part of his skin is visible. This is definitely not his match entrance.
Black Mantis: Good evening. I am the Black Mantis. No, you've likely never heard of me. Do not feel compelled to react as if you have.
Mantis waits, momentarily, then continues.
Black Mantis: For a number of years now, The Black Mantis has represented something that strikes fear, or should, in the heart of every person in this business who would do injustice for any reason. The Black Mantis stands for what is right. The Black Mantis stands for justice, for balance......for those who cannot stand for themselves in that ring.
Again, Mantis pauses, perhaps expecting some sort of reaction to words he has spoken with such conviction. He is greeted only with silence.
Black Mantis: I do want to let you all know that sometimes, justice isn't righting a wrong, or preventing a misdeed afore hand. No, it is not always pretty, and that is something that you must reconcile yourself to, citizens. Sometimes, justice requires a reckoning unlike what you may be prepared for. But trust that I, being the hand of justice, know exactly when that kind of thing is required.
Another brief pause, another silent gap, before Mantis again carries on.
Black Mantis: Tonight, I'm tasked with facing a vile creature in one Tyler Knight. Tyler thinks his hair is important to me, and that I made mention of his hair for some other reason than to see how he would react to it. Good job, Tyler. You're even more pliable than I figured you would be, and that means serving you a proper dose of justice is going to be even easier than I thought. But you are not what this is about. This is about assuring the fans that they now have someone fighting for them who will not falter. Someone who will not waiver. Someone who will not crumble. Despite what others may tell you, fans of Revival wrestling, I give you my word, that in Black mantis, you have found someone who will always put justice before my own goals, before anything else, and you now have someone you can look to and be proud of. I thank you for your time, citizens, and will do whatever is in my power to make you glad that Dark Justice, the Black Mantis has arrived.
Still nothing more than a murmur. The crowd does mini-pop, however, when a large puff of smoke erupts from the flooring beneath Mantis's feet, then quickly dissipates with Mantis nowhere to be seen.
That is when the lights kick up and Revival comes into full swing with the lights kicking around and the entrance theme blazing over the P.A
Mayhem: What in the world was all that, Richie?
Trinks: I..Is it safe to come out?
Mayhem: Ladies and Gentleman, Richie Trinks is hiding under the announce table. Come out! Welcome to HBO Network’s REVIVAL! We have a stacked show tonight with a HUGE Champion vs. Champion Match!
The sound Richie replacing himself in his chair can be heard now.
Trinks: And Richie is back on attack like the Big Mac! Magpie, your boyfriend Fagan Ballentine will be here tonight.
Mayhem: Boyfriend? I think not. I have word that Hessingstock is here tonight..Kerry Windsor just got to the building and Sullivan Aimes takes on the new comer Holli Would!
Trinks: Can the new talent come out on top tonight or will the veterans of Revival reign supreme!
Mayhem: We can only hope as Revival gets underway, Trinkerbelle.
Maggie and Trinks are interrupted by the camera shot heading to the back.
It quickly cuts elsewhere in the arena and we find ourselves...in complete and utter darkness. In the background, water can be heard dripping and there's a humming sound coming from somewhere in the distance, but the camera cannot pick up anything at all other than the sounds. The cameraman's heavy breathing begins to cut through the sound too; clearly they're nervous over the situation they find themselves in. Out of nowhere, a voice begins to speak.
: "Are you frightened little man?"
A bang echoes through the room and the cameraman makes a scared yelp before the voice speaks again.
: "Do you not find the situation you are in enlightening my friend? Being completely unable to sea heightening your other senses, your sense of smell much clearer, your hearing much better...I find it almost peaceful..."
Shuffling can be heard in the darkness and when the voice speaks again, it's a little louder.
: "Fear is said to have a smell my friend, did you know that fact? Canine's can smell fear; nervousness registers on their senses...I wonder how badly you would smell of fear right now?"
More shuffling is heard, mixed with muffled footsteps, and as the voice speaks another time it's louder still.
: "You are right to be afraid. I WANT you to be afraid...because I want you to experience what I want everyone else in this company to experience. Fear will spread through the roster here in Revival like WILDfire spreading through the bush...and do you know who will be the architect of that fear my friend?"
The sound of shuffling and footsteps stops completely, and there is silence for several seconds before the lights come on from nowhere and the face of Garrett Wolfcastle almost fills the screen. The cameraman yelps again as he takes half a step backwards.
Garrett Wolfcastle: "ME!"
Wolfcastle's eye's light up and it's clear that he's smiling underneath the menacing looking mask of his.
Garrett Wolfcastle: "...You may run now"
On cue, the cameraman turns and hightails it out of the room, pushing through a set of double doors, followed only by Wolfcastle's soulless laughter as the show cuts back to ringside.
"And If You Gaze For Long Into An Abyss, The Abyss Gazes Into You!"
- Friedrich Nietzsche
As the Nietzsche quote appears on the screen, the arena's lights cut and "Monster" by Skillet begins to play on over the pa system. The crowd look around, wondering what the hell is going on as a single spotlight shines down onto the top of the stage, where a lone man now rests on one knee with his head bowed towards the floor. As the music kicks in properly, the figure quickly stands up and glares out into the crowds and sparks begin to rain down from above the stage. The figure, looking particularly spooky in the half light of the solitary spotlight, begins to slowly walk down the ramp.
Stan Hopeforth: "Ladies and Gentleman, making his way to the ring, weighing in at three hundred and twenty six pounds. From Cambridge, England...GARRETT WOLFCASTLE!!!"
The crowd boo instinctively as the mysterious Wolfcastle reaches the bottom of the ramp, where he walks around to the opposite side of the ring before reaching up and grabbing hold of the ropes, using them to pull himself up onto the apron. Wolfcastle steps over the top rope, pacing around the ring before stepping into the centre, slowly raising his arms into the air before quickly whipping them down, causing pyro's to explode on each turnbuckle before the house lights raise again. Wolfcastle steps over to the corner, removing his coat and dropping it under the bottom turnbuckle before turning to face the middle of the ring again, waiting for the start of the match.
A five bell ring is heard when the lights go out. The Bells ring for the fallen family member of Nick Keenan. Silence looms the arena then before the fall performed by september mourning hits the speakers as the lights fade to darkness. As the song hits it's high note, the arena lights flash until Nick Keenan walks out from the back. Nick stares out into the crowd then stares dead ahead at the ring. Nick rubs his hands together then runs down the aisle that leads to the ring. Once Nick reaches the ringside, he slides through the bottom rope and then leaps to his feet. Nick goes to the corner and awaits for the match to begin.
DING! DING! The bell sounds and Wolfcastle charges toward Keenan almost immediately, smashing him into the turnbuckle with a big splash inthe corner. He gets a hold of Nick Keenan and sends him flying across the ring with a releae german suplex.
Mayhem: Did you see Keenan fly from ring post to ring post?
Nick Keenan hops to his feet and charges at The Monster in an attempt to change the pace of the match. Keenan connects with a running knee lift that sends The Monster stumbling back into the ropes. Keenan stays on the offensive and delivers a few stiff punches before sending The Monster into the ropes via the irish whip. The Monster reverses the irish whip and sends Keenan into the ropes instead. Upon his return The Monster slams him to the canvas via a sidewalk slam. He climbs to his feet and drops big leg drop before making a cover,

..Keenan kicks out.
Mayhem: A near fall from The Monster.
Trinks: Where did Revival find this guy? I wonder what he looks like without that mask.
The Monster backs Nick Keenan into the corner and begins driving multiple knees into Keenan's midsection before sending him across the ring and into the other turnbuckle. Keenan smacks the turnbuckle pads and falls to his stomach. The Monster approaches him slowly before lowering to his knees and making a cover.

Trinks: This one is over did you see how hard he hit?!

...Keenan kicks out!
Mayhem: Nick Keenan has a lot of fight in him, but this guy is just brutal!
The Monster brings Nick Keenan to his feet and attempts a strong lariat but Nick Keenan ducks under it and kicks The Monster in the back of the leg, forcing him to drop to one knee.
Trinks: Nick Keenan may have found a strategy that works Margaret!
Nick Keenan slingshots himself out of the ropes and smacks Wolfcastle with a discuss elbow smash. The Monster reels back a bit but stays on one knee. Nick Keenan slingshots himself out of the ropes again, this time landing a missle dropkick to the face that sends The Monster on his back. Nick Keenan makes a cover,

Trinks: Good grief!
Nick Keenan stays on the offensive and cut blocks The Monster, seending him down to his back. He sits up and Nick Keenan slingshots out of the ropes a third time, this time performing a front flip neckbreacker that puts The Monster on the mat, flat on his back. Nick Keenan makes the cover,

...KICK OUT!
Trinks: That one was close Mags!
Mayhem: Something tells me the big guy has a little more fight in him.
Nick Keenan heads for the top rope as The Monster clibms to his feet. Keenan leaps from top rope and attempts a flying clothesline but The Monster catches him by the neck in mid-air. The circle the ring a bit with Keenan gasping for air and The Monster staring deeper into Keenan's eyes in search of his soul. The Monster finds Keenan's soul and lifts him nito the air and nearly breaks him in half with a chokeslam. The crowd is totally silent as The Monster looks over a fallen Nick Keenan.
Trinks: Is he alive?
Mayhem: Well his torso is rising from time to time, that should be a dead give away.
The Monster lifts Nick Keenan from the canvas and positions him on the top turnbuckle so that he is seated.
Trinks: What more could he need to do?
The Monster grapples with Nick Keenan and steps way from the corner with Keenan basically rolled into a ball and resting atop his shoulder. He takes two steps forward before leaping into the air and slamming Nick Keenan to the mat with his Judge, Jury, & Executioner finisher. Wolfcastle makes a lazy cover,
